2. Adopted as God’s Children
“He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will.” (Ephesians 1:5)
Through Christ, we are adopted into God’s family, becoming His children and heirs.

“In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.” (Ephesians 1:7)

The “mystery of his will” refers to God’s eternal plan of salvation and reconciliation through Christ, which was previously hidden but now revealed. This mystery encompasses several key aspects:
- Universal Scope: God’s plan includes both Jews and Gentiles in one body, the Church (Ephesians 3:6).
- Christ as the Centerpiece: The mystery revolves around Christ and His role in reconciling all things to God (Colossians 1:26-27).
- Cosmic Reconciliation: God’s will involves bringing all things in heaven and on earth under Christ’s headship (Ephesians 1:10).

The apostle Paul wrote, “I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.” (Ephesians 1:17)

5. United in Christ
“To bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.” (Ephesians 1:10)

7. Sealed with the Holy Spirit
“And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit.” (Ephesians 1:13)
The Holy Spirit is given to believers as a seal, guaranteeing our salvation.
Paul further reminds us that the Holy Spirit permanently resides within believers, urging us not to grieve Him: “Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.” (Ephesians 4:30)
8. Empowered by God’s Strength
“And his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms.” (Ephesians 1:19-20)
